Spring has arrived! Which means fresh flowers, longer days and spending more time outdoors. The perfect excuse give your garden a makeover and create an outdoor lounge while welcoming Spring.
After a long exhausting day at work, we are longing to relax in the evening sun. The perfect place to dream away. However, not everyone is lucky enough to have a lounge set in their garden, BUT don´t worry, with this easy DIY you can create the perfect outdoor hideaway even for your balcony.
Roll up your sleeves
Now it’s time to roll up your sleeves and get started with the first steps! Firstly, what do we need? Actually not that much, just a few pallets and some cushions.
- Turn over your pallet and lay it on the ground.
- Put the second pallet on top of the other one. Now your base is created.
- Place a third pallet vertical behind the base. If you don’t have a wall to place it against, make sure you screw the pallet to the other pallets to make it stable.
- If you wish, you can make the lounge bigger and play around with the shape by adding some more pallets.
The first and biggest part is done. But sitting only on pallets will for sure not provide the best comfort. With adding some pillows, blankets and other textiles, you can create a perfect, cosy afternoon hang out spot.
Bring more life to the place
Are you still missing the cheerful and relaxed feeling? Decoration can make a big difference when it comes to the atmosphere. This does not only apply for the indoor design but also outside decoration. There are lots of outdoor mirrors, pillows, flower vases, lights and of course plants and flowers you can use. By adding some colour and different materials you can bring more life to the place!
Easy to paint
Not a big fan of the natural brown colour of the pallets? Don´t worry, because they are easy to paint! Painting the pallet will change the whole appearance and can make it look more fresh and clean.
